The Food and Drug Law Institute is conducting an audioconference to discuss the new Pandemic and All-Hazard Preparedness Act. This legislation focuses on Federal, state and local emergency preparedness capabilities. Its aim is to enhance accountability of federal funds, promote enhanced levels of preparedness and coordinate government and regions at all levels throughout the country and improve the nation’s biosurveillance capabilities.

This meeting will focus on the government’s efforts to accelerate the development of biodefense products for the market—presenting its key plans and programs. It will include a discussion of the Biomedical Advanced Research Development Agency (BARDA), communication between the industry and the government and the incentives designed to encourage industry to develop biodefense countermeasures.

ASM Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting
